An Australian girl who was repeatedly shot by a stalker in India has reportedly died.
Lila Salter was shot three times by Saurav Singh – who allegedly also raped her – who then turned the gun on himself on Saturday.
Lila, 17, had been on life support since the shooting and was not expected to recover.
She was taken home from the Apollo Hospital in New Delhi last night after doctors declared her brain dead and said they could not remove the bullet lodged in her brain.
Lila spent her final hours surrounded by family in her home of Vrindavan.
Lila was born in the northern NSW town of Murwillumbah but has lived with her family as a devout Hare Krishna in India for several years.
ABC Radio and Fairfax have reported her death this morning.
