Dancing the Dark Turmoil……I’ve strayed in the sunshine, in dust realised like a refiner’s fire, face–hardened and with magnetised ease. On the trumpets of massacre, I will shake all nations, break their bonds asunder, untying the knots of the soul, scampering out of the bomb flash.
My signature consists of the triconsonantal ‘Arabic root word هجر (anglicised as h–J–R), and means literally: “to leave, abandon, desert, forsake, renounce, break with” and, by extension, “to separate from in body or heart/spirit”.
Yes folks, I have thrown off my Islamic shackles… Hi there .

Cheers for your welcome, and yes I did! Hahahaha. My mistake — I’ve grown too accustomed to Urdu, which uses that particular letter as denoting a consonant which you pronounce by exhaling at the same time. I’ll go and correct that now !

Dear Pazuzu
Good to see you have no more shackles and chains !
Welcome, and you came to the right place !
I gather, you are pakistani, are you living in pakistan, and which place, if I may ask at this point.... this is no inquiry, but mere curiosity from my side !

Cheers, folks! Thanks for your greetings, people, that’s made me feel very welcome. Unfortunately, I’ve not quite overthrown my shackles — I intend on making a thread about it, or I suppose I could append my queries here. I really wanted to direct them at those here who have taken the step of going apostate from Islam…

Just kidding . My parents conceived me in Pakistan, but I have lived in Britain all my life: born in Scotland, living in England. I still have a heavily Asian, mostly muslim, community around me so that does pose a problem.
Tvebak: ever watched The Mighty Boosh?

Can't say I have. Probably not caught the attention of the danish television yet. But from their site on the internet it seems quite interesting, Jazz.

Well, I know some of the discussions here have certainly gotten me thinking again. Finally, after so many years trying to convince myself I did believe in the Orthodox view of Islam!

Pazuzu,
It is ineteresting to learn that you once felt that you were shackled.
I wonder what that feels like? Only I don't want to experience it.
Usually, the only way to learn about things in life is by experiencing them.
I cannot imagine willing myself to be subdued by anything I question!!!
Either way, I am also new here.
This is my introduction. I don't mean to take the limelight away from you or nothing like that, you know?
I just felt that the warm welcome everyone extended to you, was worth sharing, if you don't mind!
I am eager to learn about your life and its tribulations, as well as successes, and even more , the best of comical moments!
I got a few! I promise to tell them to you, and everyone else, Pazuzu!

No probs, MrInquisitive, I don’t mind your jumping in this thread and having your say. I don’t mind at all!
I’ll make a proper statement in your own intro thread. But thanks for your comments. Aye, it felt weird with such shackles chaining me. It always made me think of one passage in the Qur’an where Muhammad claims that Allah does not impose a burden so heavy that a soul cannot bear it. And it always made me question that.
