Over last several months, i've seen some documentaries about the Bible/Quran and during them, they've shown how these stories existed long before these religions ever came into being.

The story of Cain & Abel being one, Noah and the flood, and the sources of the 10 Commandments.

It got me thinking about many things, so i wanted to dig a little deeper. Anyone know of more stories and belief from the Bible/Quran which can be found in other cultures or their origins.

Any help would be nice.

Hello XXX, I will try to condense the information in point forms as much as I can.

Today there is 6 Billion humans on Earth.

We calculated that there existed about 100 Billion humans today. Most of these humans existed prior to Moses, Jesus or Muhammad.

Everyone of course will wish that his 'messenger'  will make it but in the balance of probability, that will be wishful thinking.

You might want to consider the older semitic religion:
Zorastrian with their God Ahura Mazda.

Agnostics, who today are represented by Druze and the followers of John the Baptist.

Zorastrian and Agnostics believe in the concept of Light & Dark. Good & Evil. It is believed that the concept of hell & the concept of an Evil Satan, comes from the agnostic views. Prior to the NT, Satan was an obedient angel who always did as he was told.

The Agnostics also believe in secrecy and levels of knowledge. You are permitted to hide your belief. And even the Druze complete book can only be read by a 40yr old Druze male.

You might want to consider studying the history of the Baals. The semitic Lords. Every tribe and city had its Baals.

The nomad Baals were warriors, visible as columns of fire and burning trees. They were micro-managers and talked directly to messengers. They were often moon gods as Nomads always cared about the moon, to know if they will see at night or not during travels.

The city Baals were agrarian, life, rain. As the city established itself, it would have the Baals for education and learning and knowledge. Also the Agrarian Baals were always about life, and life can not come from only one. So they always had a Father, a Mother and an Off-spring.

Isis, Osiris and then Horus. God, Mary and then Jesus. They also always had some story about defeating Death. Life defeats Death, just like that movie the Matrix. An aspect that is always missing in the Nomad Baals, who were warriors and did not have much use for 'life'.

Also the city Baals always cared about the Sun. I mean, can you imagine a farmer forced to use the Moon cycles to plan his crops? His crops will just die and he will die soon after. What kind of an idiot would impose a moon calendar on farmers? Like some desert dwelling Fatimid Caliphs tried to do in Egypt and caused some of the worst famines (Cannibalistic) in history. They just collected their taxes in the wrong times of the year the bloody twits.

But generally the study of the Baals is an interesting glimpse on what the semites were all about. One of the most interesting aspects of the Semite is that, they never worshipped stones. Christians, jews and muslims try really hard to paint the Semite as human sacrificing, stone worshiping Jahil Morons. But in reality, no semite *ever* worshipped a stone by as much as no muslim worship that stone he is facing in Kaaba.

In direct relation to islam, you should study the Hanafi Religion. Not to be confused with the Hanafi Mazhab (The Hanafi School). The Hanafi Religion was a Yemeni religion that was followed by many members of Muhammad's family including his Grand-Father. It involved Haj to some of the many Stones that existed prior to Islam. No Alcohol. No burial of daughters. Chopping the hands of thieves. Stoning adulterers. Facing a direction to pray. Prostrating and Wudu. Facing a common direction while praying (Jerusalem). Their god had several names, all of his names were considered sacred. The most prominent name being (Rahman). Bism Illah Ar Rahman Ar Raheem.

It was the son of Abu Siffyan (I think) who was on a mount, watching all the new muslims pray and uttered: "Look, they are Hanafis and they do not even know it."

If you want to delve in history XXX. You will have to leave islam at the door. No historian ever went back in time and came back a muslim. But if you still want to go back in time. Look up Zorastrians. Hanafis. Baals. Agnostics: (Druze, Followers of John the Baptist, Sabaeans).

Always remember, even the Grand father and the mother of Muhammad did not make it to heaven even after Muhammad tried to pray for them.

If his own parents could not make it, what do you think happened to the rest of the 90 Billion humans that existed prior to Islam? History is extremely critical of people like Muhammad.
